Discover the Palace of Versailles

2014/08/15 24

This July, I have visited a palace that has been on the UNESCO’s World Heritage list for thirty years, one of the most beautiful achievement of French art, Palace of Versailles. If you plan your trip to France, you definitely need to add this place to your list. I have made a list of tips for travelers heading to see the Chateau de Versailles.

Tips for travelers visiting Château de Versailles

1. Bring a hat or an umbrella if you are visiting the palace in the summer. I had to stay in line under the sun for two hours and without my headwear I would probably get a sunstroke.

2. Long line. Be prepared to wait before you’ll see the magnificent beauty of the chateau, but the wait is totally worth it.

3. Get the audio guide

4. Don’t exit the palace without visiting the gardens and park of the Chateau. The palace wouldn’t be as charming without the beautiful gardens.

5. Get familiarized with French history before seeing the Versailles. It will make your experience even more interesting.

The Chateau de Versailles is such a lovely place, it really is a pity about the constant lines and how crowded the palace can be. I’ve found that if you arrive just before it opens, it’s a bit easier to get inside.
